Tiny Christmas Houses Ornaments

Natalie and I both saw these paper ornament houses at Michael’s a while back and I couldn’t stop thinking about them (crazy, I know).  Then I saw some ornaments made out of the same blank houses in a BHG magazine, although I can’t find them online anywhere now, but they decorated them so cute . Anyway,  the funny thing is that the one looks almost exactly like our house!  Had to have them.  It was super fun painting and glittering them!

A tiny church, too.

I decorated them to go with the lime green/red color scheme my Christmas stuff has going on.  I’m going to have to hang them really high up on the tree so little fingers don’t steal them!

Broken ornament count as of today: 4

Anyone know why they make ornaments out of glass?!  I should probably have gotten some child proof ones a long time ago.

Such cute little houses and I can imagine the fun you had decorating them. I had a problem with 2 little kittens playing with my christmas tree ornaments last year!

  2. i love making tiny houses! did you make these or buy them? i have the bhg pattern, and martha stewart has some really cute ones that i have been making. aren’t they so fun and addicting? i love the colors you chose and their itty bittyness!

I love these – and I LOVE the color scheme. You should see our tree…all the ornaments are at the top third, it’s silly. And the even funnier part is that I’m more worried about Abigail playing with the ornaments than Brayton!
And I’m so glad you all liked your little surprises in the mail – thank you again for a wonderful Thanksgiving – you’re amazing Anna!

Adorable houses, Anna! I made the same little red house (decorated almost exactly the same!) last year as a “First Home” ornament for friends. We’re sort of like crafty kindred spirits. 🙂
ps: your photos look really nice, too

I have some antique ones that belonged to my great-grandmother that are wonderful! They have holes in the back where I believe I’m supposed to insert a bulb on a light string – I’m too skeert though. They can just remain unlit. 🙂

What darling houses and I LOVE your color combos! I’d love them in human size… and put one in my yard as little guest cottage. I’ve just added going to Michael’s on my list for tomorrow. Hoping my M’s still has them.

Try IKEA’s ornaments next year. We let our kids (5, 3 1/2, and 2) decorate the tree themselves!
