death of a project

I was really into making this bag, designed by clevergirl.  I even got the pattern printed out, material cut, and halfway through - then I realized I shouldn't have used stretch denim pants.  No wonder I didn't like them as pants, they stretched and didn't stretch back to the normal shape.  I feel bad tossing it, but it's really a loss.  I decided I'll make the bag with another fabric (one that doesn't involve stretch this time).  If you could see me right now - I'm pouting.  wah!

but hey - spring is here!

  2. I am sorry your project got chucked, but your mistake is my non mistake. I almost made a bag out of some stretch denim myself, thanks for saving me the grief!

  5. At least you knew when to quit, and didn't force your way through out of stubbornness! I have had more than one project I saw through to the end when I should have known better and chucked them near the beginning!

YAY for Spring!! My poor daffodils are covered with SNOW!! :o(

  8. Oh my gosh, I can totally feel your pain. I had that happen to a little girls dress I was designing recently - I went to try to change something and it took forever and still looked wrong - I hated to do it, but I finally decided to toss the project aside :-(.

On to bigger and better things and you're right - Spring is here!!

  10. I relate. Tried to make a ruffled flower yesterday. The fabric was too thick.
    It's in the trash now.

  12. Silly bag! Really, you'd think fabric would behave wouldn't you?! There seems to be a bit of this going around at the moment. I made some trousers yesterday and although they turned out fine they won't be worn for more than a few moments at a time. Children! I must admit the fabric is rather outrageous.

  13. Oh Anna ... if you only knew the projects I've tossed, taken apart, unraveled, pulled apart, etc ... you'd be feeling okay with your departed project. Lessons learned ... right??

Here's something to cheer you up ... but you'll have to visit my blog. Hope this brings a smile to your face today ~j.

  14. This is how I feel about my coca-cola napkins and cords skirt project for my daughter (um, written out like that it sounds really dumb, but I promise it's cute). I have decided get a new kind of cord and reconvene when it's cold enough again to wear such a thing :)

  16. Oh, I totally get it. Good for you chucking it when you did instead of torturing yourself. You deserve a good pout. :)
