Hey there Little Red Riding Hood,
You sure are looking good.
You’re everything a big bad wolf could want.

I don’t think little big girls should
Go walking in these spooky old woods alone. Owoooooooo!
My youngest daughter, Emily, had gotten a super cute fleece coat (from the Gap) for her first birthday. When I came across McCall’s M5743 pattern, it was almost an exact match to the store bought coat. So I needed to make a red version for my oldest. I highly recommend this coat pattern. It’s really easy with fleece because you don’t have to worry about finishing any of the edges. It’s not lined, but it makes a great spring or even fall coat. I’ll be making this again I’m sure.
Believe it or not this was my first time making button holes. Yep, I confess. But I used Until Wednesday Calls’ awesome button hole tutorial. Worked like a charm.
It’s so cute as is your little big girl. Yep you’d better watch out Little Red Riding Hood, I hear that wolf is very hungry. I just love red coats and the pleats on that one are a lovely addition.
Beautiful! And those blonde locks… {sigh}
oooh this is so cute!!! i love the red and not having to finish edges certainly appeals to me. i am not that familiar with sewing garments so anything to make it easier is great
Very nice. I’ll have to look up that pattern! I’ve really liked sewing with fleece for that very reason. Thanks for more inspiration…especially in red!
This is adorable! I just might have to buy that pattern. 🙂
Cute jacket! I wonder what size it goes up to?
yeah, but you’re a zipper expert, so… 😉 Love the color and buttons…so cute!
That is the cutest little jacket EVER! I must go have a look at that pattern!
This little jacket is SO cute! It totally looks like it came from the Gap. Love your photo shoot too! 🙂
what a great coat! I think I know what gap coat you mean and I think my daughter had it too. But I like yours even better. and I looove that song!
wow thanks for linking up! i think you are pretty neat! (i’ve seen your stuff all over the place!) 😉
Wow. Gorgeous. Makes me think I should start looking for a pattern for this coming fall? Btw, love love the little red riding hood commentary! p.s. Thanks for linking!
Super cute! button holes are like zippers, once you’ve done one it’s no problem 🙂
She looks like her mama!! beautiful!
Anna, JUST darling!
cute cute cute.
This is so lovely!
What a great coat! Love the colour too!
Darling!
That is so darling and your daughter is adorable! I’ve been wanting to make a red coat for myself similar to that. I love that it has a hood too, so many cute coats don’t.
It’s a beautiful coat. My kids are blonde too and blondes always look super in red. Great job!
Hey Anna! The coat is so cute, great job!
It’s so darling!
Your little girl is soooo sweet!! Beautiful coat and hood! Oh my gosh, what memories from the 60’s that song brings back! … donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
That is one beautiful coat!
Thank you so much for the link to a button tutorial. I’m just about to get on the proper sewing band wagon (as opposed to just playing at it) and I needed someone to tell me about button holes. It’s funny what preoccupies my mind sometimes!
Thanks again!
