leisurely dress


yep, got sucked in by another cute dress tutorial, this time by JCasa.  Quite similar to these dresses I made here, but I love the slight differences (and of course I love trying out new tutorials).


We had a blast taking these photos together, just in the backyard, nothing fancy.  Natalie and I took turns taking each other's pictures, so there were some funny ones in there!


I think this will transition nicely into the fall with a long sleeve tee and leggings underneath, it also has a nice bit of room for growth, so it will last a long time!


I did add a strip of fabric at the hem, just to make it a bit longer, we don't need to be flashing the neighbors while swinging (we've got a stunt woman swinger on our hands here)!

  5. How utterly cute! I love the dress and the fabric. I'm so glad brown is back for little girls. It's always been a favorite of mine.

    I have never done any shirring. This may be my inspiration.

  16. I never would have thought to combine the polka dots with the mushroom print. It looks amazing. Brown is my absolute favorite color.

    The picture of the dirty feet just screams summer. I spend the entire season scrubbing my daughter's feet every night before bed.
