Glad I was able to get this little project out of my head, maybe now I can move on to making some Christmas presents! Do you ever get like that? One track mind – must get this project done type of thing? Okay, maybe it’s just me, but sometimes I just get fixated on a certain project on my to-do list and everything else gets put aside.
So I actually had almost an entire day to myself this weekend, all by myself in my own house. YES!!!! That never happens – ever. I’m usually lucky for an hour or so here and there. Each year my husband’s family gets together to do a cookie bake and decorating sessions with all the cousins, so I shipped them off for the day. It was really nice. Got to wrap presents, clear out about 6 bags full of goodies for goodwill, and even decided to do a little sewing.
This looks great – I’m totally amazed at your talent. And the fact that you have time to make all of this stuff! I’m up to my eyeballs trying to get everything done. And thus, I swear, (again) that next year I will start on Christmas stuff in January and work all year on it for a stress free holiday. 🙂

It’s beautiful Anna! I would love to make one like that if I find the time.
I know how it feels:))can’t get this project out of your head and in same time has no time,or enough materials to have it finished. But another project already pops up and your mind is already involved…
Your runner looks great! I love asimmetrical stars-they look very modern.
Pretty!! I am working on a table runner as a gift, I like making them b/c i get to practice my quilting skills and it’s almost immediate gratification!
Love the added pop of the hand quilting. Really gives it that extra somethin’-somethin’.
That’s so pretty. The Pop Garden is perfect. I would have never thought to use it for Christmas, but it’s just right. I have some scraps, could make some ornaments. Hmmm.
Yes, I’m that way too……..sometimes a project just speaks louder than others.
The cool thing is getting the decorations out the next year and seeing the things that you had made the year before and have forgotten about. It’s like they’re new all over again !
Pretty work !
That’s really pretty. Love the hand quilting. And, yeah, I’m the same way – fixating on something till it’s done! And, I love moments alone in the house! So precious. So few.
That’s beautiful! And I totally get the one-track mind thing. It usually happens to me when I have something else I NEED to be working on, like Christmas gifts!
Isn’t it lovely to have time to yourself?! I rarely get any, sometimes I have to hide in the bathroom for a few mins just to clear my head, lol!
What a beautiful star runner! I love this colors of this fabric! It’s wonderful 🙂
Happy Thursday!
hugs, margie
I agree, the pop garden looks so nice, and I just love your runner! I adore those stars.
That is adorable! I love that it’s Christmas-y, but that you could leave it out all winter too.
New follower here — this is a beautiful table runner! Love the colors you chose — and I certainly understand a one track mind!
Love the Heather Bailey Pop gArden! One of my al time favs! Looks awesome for Christmas projects – LOVE IT!
really lovely … looks so festive!
That is beautiful! I am currently working on a quilted table runner (just strips, I’m a beginner) as a gift; yours inspires me to try a different design next time!
you’ve inspired me again! stop doing that!
I’ve got enough on the go as it is! LOL!
Nope, you aren’t the only one with the one-track-mindset. My mother showed me a candle mat she made out of a hexagon a couple weeks back. Yes, you guessed it, everything else was set aside to see if I could figure the pattern out. Success! But now I am that much further behind on what I SHOULD be doing. :o) Your table runner is a stunner. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
Love the table runner! I love that the stars are not symmetrical.
yay for alone time! i think the handquilting really gives the table runner that wow factor. love it 🙂
love love love that faux bois fabric.
So pretty! I love the hand quilting! Now you have a halloween and xmas table runner! I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more 🙂
You have just been sewing away! A tree skirt and 4 stocks on top of this AND your beautiful advent calender?! You are on a roll!
It’s lovely! I’m planning on making a Star pillow for Christmas (after I finish my current Christmas pillow – agreed on the one track mind). Maybe I’ll do your hand-quilting. It looks so nice!
I love the wonky-ness of the stars. Did you make up this pattern?
adorable! of course! love the stars-so christmasy!
I die.
This is like, thing number 300 of yours that I need to make. Could’ya slow it down a touch??
😀
Also, what camera do you use, if you don’t mind? I’m in the market and your last picture is SOoosososo pretty.
🙂
I like this one a lot…the colours and the simplicity of the 3 star design is beautiful.
Very very pretty!!
Oh my gosh, I am SO like that – if I have an idea or design in my head, it must get out. It’s like I am stuck until it is complete. Gorgeous runner – love the stars and the fabric!!

I love it! My sewing guild made a quilt out of wonky stars a few months ago, and it was my first quilt experience! It was so cool to see my star with everyone else’s! Love what you did with it!
Very cute!
I am totally with you on the one track mind thing. Crap can be piled up all around me, kids running wild, but I am focused on my thing. And nothing makes me focus on an “unnecessary” sewing project like a deadline for something else! No wonder I never get enough sleep!
A house to yourself for a day? Envy envy envy!!
I couldn’t agree more with you about having to get a project out of my head to move on!
Love the table runner!
I love it! You have the best taste!
Cute!
I also find it necessary to work through a project that’s on my mind before i can finish other projects!
I live the addition of hand quilting,
Adore this. I wish I had the skills to make the things that are in my head like you can!!! x
Now THAT is pretty. Good job.
Missed your giveaway but am so glad to see this table runner! I just LOVE the red stitching around the stars..you have given me the inspiration to finish a little embroidery project I started in Sept. Thanks! BTW, nice blog!
I’ll cry the day I run out of the woodgrain. Love it as the background.
I love this! I made the same tree skirt this year. Now I know what to do with my scraps. Did you follow a pattern? Or do those type stars have a name?
