I knew I had to get this block done because the ones already finished are just too amazing!
I used a white linen for the body of the door and a Kaffe Fassett shot cotton (Ikat Streak Pool) for the 'siding'.
I had actually attempted to make a different door and ended up scrapping it. Do you ever have that happen? I finished it one night and wasn't super satisfied with how it ended up, slept on it, then the next day still didn't like it and cut it up! I'm so glad I did though, this one turned out way better than the first.
Hope you like it Lisa!

I'm loving it! Nice color and fabric choice!
ReplyDeleteI'm always so impressed with quilt blocks that make a picture like that. It's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I just love that green fabric!
ReplyDeleteI think this is my favorite block idea. Ever. I hopped over to Flickr....you have all done such a great job! Can't wait to see the finished quilt on this one.
ReplyDeletelove it!! I think your door looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteI just had a project for a swap that I had to toss, I just couldn't send it not looking perfect!
I want to see your front door now!
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely beautiful! The shot cotton is perfect.
ReplyDeletehow creative! love all the little details. . . especially the stairs.
ReplyDeleteI love that! Great job... is this for a quilt for you?
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt block idea. Yours turned out great, Anna. I love the little "peeks" of color... on the door, next to it, and beside the stairs. I also can't get over the fact that there are 4 different fabrics making up the little window in the door. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI love your door! The little window with bits of color is perfect! I can't wait to see the whole finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteit's adorable! and that shot cotton is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the block - the flowers and steps add the perfect touch of whimsy :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on here in a few days, but I LOVE the projects you've been working on - the scooter tray is such a neat idea and I'm going to use your advent calendar tutorial (yeah, like I've got time) to make the girls a chore chart/message box with fewer pockets, but the same idea nonetheless. The v-day garland is sweet too. Amazing work Anna, as always :)
All the time. Sometimes I even take pictures...still hate it and then delete the pictures and scrap it or start over. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your door. The blue is beautiful! I love the steps too. Nice touch.
This is wonderful! It's a modern variation of the "old schoolhouse" traditional block. I love the colors and shapes.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!
