I figured I needed to seriously move some fabric the other day. Natalie had been bugging me about a certain tiny flower print that had been sitting on the shelf forever - not knowing what I was ever planning on doing with it. Well, we found a way to use it, and we did it together. Yep, the girls both took turns helping me with the first few pillowcases.
It was especially fun to show Natalie all the little things you need to know when you first start sewing, and she really liked it. Up until about the third pillowcase, but you know how that goes.
We followed Dana's handy pillowcase tutorial and we'll hopefully be able to deliver them to the hospital this week for donation. It feels really good to use up some of the old stack and to help kids in need at the same time.
I collect Fabric too, LOL! You have a Great collection!

ReplyDeleteso many pretty colors! Yesterday we unexpectedly put our youngest son in a toddler bed because he learned how to climb out of his crib. So of course I came back here to get the link to make him a new pillowcase for his big boy pillow. (which is an awful thomas the train fabric, but he went nuts over it so that's all that matters!)

She was able to return to school this year, but just received heart breaking news that she cannot return to school for the rest of the year. We were trying to think about something special we could do for her and this idea is perfect. When I asked my son what he thought he said, "great idea Mom, and let's make it lime green because that's her favorite color."
