sewing humor and a little extra

3.12.2011

I thought you all might get a kick out of this one. This little goodie was part of a gift from my mother-in-law, something she passed down to me:

A funny little magnet for my fridge.  I guess we're not the only ones who hoarded fabrics, this magnet has to be at least 20 some years old...

And I added a little something to my sewing space.  This lovely signed print from Heather Ross which I so awesomely acquired through her studio sale last fall.  And if you want some of her prints too, I just saw the other day that she now is offering some for sale on her website, how exciting!

Have a great weekend everyone.

  11. funny, funny! But, to play the devil's advocate, I've considered that by the time I die (well down the road, let's hope) whomever is around may find my fabric well nigh tasteless. I hate to think of it not being loved and used like it should. Ok, I know the magnet is just silly and funny. But, I guess I just really, really want to USE my fabric! fabric love.

  12. That print is me with my Flynn in a bike basket!
I have been having thoughts lately about how awful it would be to leave my family with 500 yards of fabric to deal with...I need to stop buying and get sewing!

  13. I think sewing styles may change...but the fundamentals and love of fabric endure. What a great print!

    So is the print!
I was lucky enough to get in on her last sale as well but apparently there was a mix up with my address and so I got a phone call from Heather Ross while I was noisily bathing my children to iron it out!!
    "Hi this is Heather Ross" ". . . Hi? . . . " It was super crazy.

  21. That print is the perfect thing to put a smile on your face every time you look at it. The quote on that magnet would be so cute stitched into a quilt block.
