Well, I couldn’t resist joining in the this round of the Urban Home Goods swap hosted by Heather and Kerri. It’s been kind of fun figuring out what to make for someone I don’t even know. But I have to admit that it’s a lot of pressure, there’s so many cute things popping up in the flickr group.
Here’s the main item for my partner: a sewing machine cover!
This was fun to put together, and I loved thinking about what kind of embroidery I would put on it. I thought a scissors seemed appropriate, although I did want to try some kind of fun quote, but couldn’t settle on anything.
Hopefully it fits her machine, if not, it’ll be a nice table runner with some extra ties!

I nearly caved and joined that swap too! I love the sewing machine cover and can’t imagine that your partner would not. I think you are in the clear 🙂
very very cute! Those little scissors make my day 🙂
I love this! I have been watching some of these flickr swap groups and everything is so well made and thoughtful. I am not sure how to join in on a swap, but they sure are full of inspiring projects!
I was just looking at that transistor radio fabric yesterday and thinking how many cool things you could do with it. This looks great!
That’s really lovely! I need to get organized and join a swap soon. It’s been too long!
love it! do you mind sharing exactly what you did? i just got a sewing machine a few months ago and all i have is that ugly thin plastic cover. ive been wanting to make one but am not sure how to tackle it.
Oh wow. This is so cool. If it isn’t for me, I may have to beg you to make one for me. I love the colors, the embroidery, the fabric choices. Very nicely done.
I absolutely adore this! And now I know what to do with my transistors! (Well, maybe I should wait a week or two to make sure that isn’t making it’s way to my house, haha). So fun!
That is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Your swap partner will flip her lid!
Love it someone is very lucky!
I love what I got from my partner but would have been VERY happy to provide a loving home for this! It’s been great fun to watch what everyone has been creating!

That is so cute! I bookmarked your blog to read more when I got a chance, and I’m glad I had a few moments this morning. Super nice job, I would be a happy partner if it were me. =) I think it would be such fun to participate in a swap!

This is possibly my most favourite item in the swap so far … Beautifully made, perfect fabric choices and oh! that embroidery 🙂
Very cool use of the Ruby Star prints, and I am loving the “cut here” lines.
Amazing! Super talented, your swap partner is so lucky!!!

Anna! This is too cute! I love the little scissors paired with that great radio print.
I love it, love it, love it!
I love those radios. I am hording some for a top secret project 🙂 Great job on the embroidered pair of scissors. I love the combination of the ruby star rising print with the linen. So pretty
It’s absolutely darling. What a nice gift to get. My mom made me a reversible sewing machine cover with appliques on it over 30 years ago for my Bernina and I still use it and cherish it. Your embroidered scissors are wonderful!
Super cute. I just made one for a friend and now need to get one going for my poor naked machine.
