vintage sheet patchwork pillow

Firstly, thanks so much for all your sweet comments on my baby curlicue quilt.  I really feel so happy to be involved in such a supportive community.

I couldn’t resist using some leftover squares from the curlicue quilt to make a coordinating pillow.  There’s just something about a little matching set of goodness to send to a new baby that I can’t stop myself.

It really came together quick and I was surprised that it actually fits a travel sized pillow form.

I love trying to wrap everything up pretty.  I just used some leftover binding material, ripped it across the grain and you’ve got yourself a pretty little bow.  If there’s anything I’d like to improve on it would definitely would be my wrapping/packaging skills.  I think for whatever reason I just fizzle out at the end creatively.  Here’s to trying new things!

Have a great weekend! See you Monday for Sewing with Knits.  I’m off to an estate sale, wish me luck.  ♥

what are the dimensions of a travel size pillow?
I’d like to make some for the kids to travel with next weekend but I didn’t realize there was a true pillow form….
    thanks

I couldn’t agree more with your sentiment on how rewarding it is to be a part of such a supportive community! Your pillow and quilt are gorgeous … I love anything made with vintage sheets, although I have never made even one thing with them. That is one lucky baby! I try to use leftover scraps of fabric, and selvages to wrap presents in too .. I think it adds a really nice touch.

    Keep up the beautiful work!

These are both so gorgeous, especially as a set, and I love that it’s a present the little girl will be able to use for a long time (if not forever!).

So pleased to have found your pretty blog, too. :)

Adorable, Anna. Perfect addition to the quilt. I just realized that a small pillow would be a good opportunity to practice my machine quilting skills. Thanks for the inspiration :)

Oh, how sweet! I need to make one of these, once I get over my fear of doing that freestyle stitching that looks so nice on quilts…
