easter dress

Noodlehead easter dress uncategorized

This is blog cheating at it’s best.  Never thought about blogging about this dress, I had made it almost 3 years ago now.  But we were getting ready for church on Easter and Natalie decided she was going to pick out my outfit.  I thought about it for a sec and let her go ahead and choose.  She really was quite thrilled about it.  Anyway, she pulled out this dress I had made and paired it with my tall leather boots.  Future fashion maven perhaps?  Watch out Stacey London.

So I figured we might as well snap some pics and blog about it.  The fabric is by Amy Butler from the long gone Lotus Wallflower in Apricot (I think).

I’m still pretty proud of this dress.  Although it does come with it’s flaws.  I’ve got some pretty crooked seams and whatnot, but it really looks pretty good overall.  Not to shabby for 3 years ago, but I can definitely see where I’ve improved (thank goodness).  I think I’ll still keep wearing it this summer.  ♥

I love that dress, I will have to buy the pattern when they have their pattern sale at JoAnns. I think Simplicity should put your version on the cover of their pattern instead. :)

Wonderful call by your daughter! My daughter has also been offering to choose my outfits. It’s refreshing to put a new spin on things, isn’t it?

Love the dress! Your daughter is so smart :) Too funny about blog cheating… I was looking through some older pictures the other day and found some things I haven’t blogged about yet and thought the same thing :)

Oh it’s so pretty! That Amy Butler print is one of my all-time faves. I bought just 1/2 yd of the green when I first started sewing and quickly learned the lesson that designer fabrics can quickly disappear forever!! No way are you cheating. Totally blogworthy. :)

I’ve often looked at this pattern and wondered how it would work up in a totally different fabric than on the pattern envelope…I like it! Might have to pick that one up for my collection!

Beautiful!! Simplicity should have put you and your dress on their pattern cover! I would never have considered this pattern until seeing your version of it. And I LOVE it!
