I’ve had this stack of fabrics waiting to turn into quilts for my girls. Most of the fabrics are by Prints Charming, Rainbow Garden collection, with quite a bit of Lizzy House thrown in and a bunch of others. The Prints Charming prints are on a so soft poplin base cloth, it’s just too dreamy. I also used a few shot cottons for the patchwork as well as the binding. Just some straight line quilting and we’re all set.
Emily had been asking me for a quilt for months, I think way before I started the swoon quilt for my mom. I had only made Emily one quilt before and it was a baby size quilt. Since the girls share their room, I think they’ll eventually need bunk beds (right now we’ve got one twin size bed and a toddler bed). So even though this is a twin size quilt, she’ll just snuggle under it every night until we make the upgrade!
Since I planned to make coordinating quilts for the girls, I knew I had to personalize it somehow. Improv pieced ‘Emily’ on the backing was the perfect choice. She’ll always know it’s hers. Plus I’ve been saving this text ikea print for a long time, it worked out perfect for the backing.
finished size: 70″ by 90″
Oh, it’s very cute. Well done.
Esther.

This is indeed a very happy quilt! I love the colors and fabrics you used, it’s so cheerful 🙂
Lovely!
Yes, very happy! I almost bought that Ikea text print to use as a backing when I was in Charlotte, but I talked myself out of it cause it seemed thin. Wish I bought it now!
Love it!! The colors are lovely and I lve how you pieced her name on the back. 🙂
I just love this Anna! Such happy, sunny colors, and the pieced name is brilliant. I’m still working up the nerve to make my first twin sized quilt…thanks for the inspiration!
Beautiful Anna! And those are some authentic smiles on Emily!

Beautiful quilt! I love the colors.
That’s lovely – the fabrics are great and having her name on the reverse is a nice touch. Hope Emily loves her quilt for many years to come.
It’s SO happy!! Love the colors and the prints you used, and ESPECIALLY the pieced name on the back! Perfect.

What is the fabric with the writing/type? I love it.

Such a pretty quilt, Anna! Love her name on the back! I’m sure she’s loving it!:)
Such a sweet quilt…and I can tell Emily is thrilled. 🙂
It’s beautiful, Anna. That red Lizzy House pearl bracelet is one of my favorite fabrics, and it goes so well with the other fabrics you chose for this quilt. Love it!
simply gorgeous!
The front is beautiful and the back is cool. I like how the name is patch worked on, and that fabric that is just writing has given me an idea (but it’s a secret). Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
absolutely love how bright and cheerful this quilt is! and the name on the back is a really cool idea.
It’s darling. She will love it for years to come! Loove the improv piecing on the back!
I adore this, Anna. Love the colors, the personalization, all of it. Lovely lovely work. Take care!
it’s adorable!
Definitely a happy quilt.
love it Anna
Oh, wow! This is so very lovely. Your choice of prints is just gorgeous, as is the text pattern on the back. You’ve made me want to drop everything (i.e. work!) and quilt all day long. 🙂
Gorgeous job Anna! I love the prints and the colors! it’s beautiful!
so cute, Anna! I love that backing fabric (bet you couldn’t have guess that?) I think I saw it at IKEA and liked it but didn’t know what I’d do with such a large print. That’s a great idea to back your quilt with it!
It’s beautiful and I especially love the back with the pieced name. She’s going to enjoy that for years and it was smart to go ahead and make it twin sized. I recently moved my two into bunkbeds and while I HATE making them up, you can’t beat the space it frees up. And they don’t look too shabby with their cheerful duvet covers.
I love her name up the side! I want one! 🙂 You are a great mom.
