Hmm, where to start? If you're looking for something genuine in blogland, you can be sure that genuine is what you'll get with Vanessa.
She's one of the very few bloggers I've meet in real life, twice no less! She truly amazes me. Her creativity truly comes from within. It's really refreshing to be around her and hear her stories. We had a blast (okay, maybe it was just me) putting on binding on her's daughter's quilt. She was so funny, she's not one to follow someone else's rules -- she makes her own. Sorry if this sounds sucky uppy or whatnot, it's really what I realized about her after we last met, and that's really cool. So this is her book, and I feel really honored to be able to give away a signed copy of it right here, today.
Make it Sew Modern has a ton of great projects that you can make your own. If I had my choice, I would have made this lovely pleated pillow, I know the magic of a good pillow. Do you?

I love Vanessa (although I've never got to meet her) for exactly the same reasons. She comes across as so honestly herself and so kind. This summer my 8-yr-old is playing all-star softball and my husband is one of the coaches, so we're spending most of the summer at practice and tournaments. But I don't mind because she loves it!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a beautiful book!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun book! I have several projects in mind for summer sewing but haven't started any--I hope the summer doesn't get away from me.

What a great giveaway! Right now I am taking an online college class with a required bus trip to NY tomorrow to see the Blue Man group. Then in Julyn we are heading south to Myrtle Beach for our annual family reunion. Most of the family will be roughing it at a KOA campsite in cabins. Since I teach the summers are filled with lots of relaxing, sewing, and reading!

My summer plans are to learn to see a maxi skirt!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the giveaway, the book looks amazing. For the summer we are going to Yellowstone for the first time, and we are very excited. I love your blog! Thanks for sharing

This is a great book. Hope I can get a copy of it. This summer my sister is having a baby so that will take up a lot of my time. I have to be the aunt that spoils the child rotten and then hands them back to mom :)

I would love to get my hands on this book! I got a new sewing machine last month and then I had a baby 4 days later so I'm dying to really get in there and use it. As for plans for the summer, I'm thinking I'll just continue to adjust to having 4 kids :)

Oooh. I have lots of summer project aspirations but I suspect a great many of them will be derailed by the imminent arrival of baby #2. Nonetheless, I hope to at least make a baby blanket or two, and maybe some plush toys.

I love the V and Co blog, I would love that book! Since my summer work commitments were canceled my plans are to sew, hang out with my girls, and enjoy a much slower pace of life!
