[Re-posting this from when I shared it as part of Vintage May over at Craftiness is Not Optional, I had asked about a pattern, and I'm working on putting more of my own spin on it and will keep you updated - thanks for your enthusiam! I also have a fun tutorial coming up next week, I can't wait to share it - there are zippers involved!!! wohoo!]
I think of little details are what makes garments really stand out. Any opportunity to add a different print or trim really makes it so much more special. I added a hem facing, button placket facing and bias tape trim for this tunic.
The pleats at the front and back of this tunic make it really cute without being frilly or overly girly. And I think the sleeveless option really makes it comfortable to wear as well as making it something you can layer with a long sleeve shirt for colder weather.
These bunnies are to die for! It's an older print by Anna Griffin and I just love it. Those little bunnies make me happy! And the bias trim/placket fabric is by Kokka.
If anyone is interested, I was considering turning this into a pattern perhaps with sizes 12 months - 5/6T Let me know in the comments, I think can be a really versatile pattern with fun options!

ReplyDeleteha! i guess i'm not the only one that wants it in ladies sizes!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes please! Would love the pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful - yes, I'd like a ladies size too, but I'd particularly love a childs size to fit an 8-9 yr old. BTW, this is for my GORGEOUS 5yr old who has ALWAYS been off the charts height-wise. She's projected to be over 6ft as an adult and I really struglle to find age-appropriate clothing for her. Thanks for considering !
ReplyDeleteLove the tunic and I would most definately buy a pattern!!
ReplyDeleteMegan

ReplyDeleteI'd love to make this for my daughter, I think the 5/6 would be a big snug, she wears a 7, but I KNOW she'd love it! (I think adult sizes would be awesome, too!)
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable, Anna! I would totally buy the pattern, but please keep the sizes going...my older daughter will want one, too :). Maybe up to size 10 or so? Heck, I would love to wear an adult version! So very cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm just catching up on blog posts and squealed when I saw this!! I am hoping the pattern is in the works - this would look so adorable on a couple of girls over here!
ReplyDeleteI don't even have a little girl to sew for, but I would buy this pattern, too!
