another basket another baby

This basket is for a baby who was in the process of being born just yesterday!  Sending thoughts their way, hoping for a healthy and happy baby!

Just like the basket from my last post, but pumped up with a few extra details.  And a few extra goodies inside.  Once I started making stuff I couldn’t stop.  I used scraps from other projects I had made for their nursery, so it was easy to get carried away.  This basket has a front pocket and fancy handles.

Inside are some terry cloth washcloths made with super soft flannel, again some of the Gail burp cloths, and a tiny little flannel receiving blanket, and of course some diapers.

The fabrics are Heather Ross Far Far Away II moons for the exterior and Lizzy House Outfoxed for the lining, I thought it was another match made in heaven.

** Just want to add that I’m going to ask the woman who’s project I based this off of before I might do a tutorial/pattern.  :)  Thanks for all your sweet comments about both of the baskets.

Hmm, I wonder if we could make it to fit a package of wipes on the side so she could use it as a portable changing supply basket then..

We used the same dipes! Super cute, just like the last ones with awesome accessories! We lived for burp clothes those first few days with both our kids. They will love it. Fingers crossed for a healthy baby and mama, and an easy (well, as easy as possible) delivery!

LOVE the baskets! Funny. That’s what I’m working on for a new baby too. Mine doesn’t have the divider in it though, sure would love some pointers on that. Just haven’t wanted to expend the brain energy to figure that one out. Super cute!

I’m kicking myself for missing your cyber sale on your patterns. Will you be having any other sales before Christmas? I want your 241 tote pattern. See it all over, and LOVE it!!!

  50. terrieannie 01.31.2013 at 1:43 am #

What is the line of fabric that you used for the blanket and washcloths? And would you say that green bracelet fabric is pretty true to color (as best you can tell?) I have purchased the PDF for this divided basket -thank you for putting it together for us. I’ll be sewing up one this weekend!

    • Anna 02.07.2013 at 4:33 pm #

Hi Terrieannie! My neighbor had actually given me the fabric, so I’m not sure who the manufacturer is, I’m so sorry. And as far as the green bracelet goes, I’d say in these pics it looks a little lighter than it really is. Hope that helps a bit!

A fabric question. What is the black and white crosshatch fabric you used for bias tape? I heart it deeply! Just bought your pattern and am off to sew :)

I MADE THIS THIS PAST WEEK! I am very new to sewing and I have to say that this was the easiest tutorial I have followed as of yet. The instructions were clear and easy to follow! The only problem I had was that my exterior ended up being a little bigger than my lining. Next time I will check that before I sew the exterior! MAKING A LOT MORE OF THESE! YOU DID A GREAT JOB PUTTING IT TOGETHER!!!!!
