boy Road Trip Case

I’m still having so much fun with my Road Trip Case Pattern.  I had pulled out this mustache fabric to make another one for Natalie (she has a thing for mustaches), but I ended up making this one for our neighbor. He’s the one who first had a Rainbow Loom and showed my girls how to make them.  So I figured it would be fun to give him a case.

His favorite color is blue so I tried to incorporate that into the inside of the case.  I think the mustaches are just too funny not to use.  I can’t wait to try another one and do some more patchwork for the exterior pieces, it’s just fun to be able to customize it!

I also left off the button/loops for the loom and plastic organizer case.  I think an older child doesn’t necessarily need the loops to keep the items extra secure, even though I like the detail that they add.  I did try and snug the elastic in a little tighter on this one. So I guess what I’m trying to say is that you can put them on or leave them off, it’s totally up to you!

Of course this is the one version of the pockets, but the pattern includes an alternate pocket arrangement for art supplies, sewing, cross stitch, and embroidery projects.  I got to use the one I made for myself for sewing this past weekend.  It was awesome.  I even slipped my skinny pincushion right in the middle, fit perfectly.

Pattern: Road Trip Case
Fabrics: Mustaches by Alexander Henry, Robert Kaufman Essex Yarn Dye and black Essex linen, Lizzy House Constellations, Architectures, just to name a few

Love this pattern – love the “stash” material. I cannot find vinyl where I live so I have not hit the send button on my purchase .

G’day Anna. What a great pattern. I do love that fabric. I would like to make a handbag of some sort out of it, or maybe a small overnight bag. Take care. Liz…
