Stripes! I love a knit with stripes. After making my first garment with the Lady Skater patten by Kitschy Coo I decided to give it another try. I had ordered this super soft knit from fabric.com for a piece I had wanted to sew up for Project Sewn. Just never got around to making what I thought I was going to, so it ended up being the perfect amount and fabric for a Lady Skater.
I do love the fit of this dress. Even though I’m not one for wearing dresses much, this one is just super comfy and casual I know I’ll wear it a lot. I had first sewed it before I had any clear elastic so I substituted regular 1/4” elastic. I think that it would have been okay if the fabric had been thicker, but with this knit it made the seam wavy and stiff. So I finished the dress anyway and stuck it in my closet. The other day I remembered to pick up some clear elastic and fixed that waistline! It didn’t take very long to fix and it made the dress just perfect fitting in my opinion.
I will definitely enjoy wearing it, especially when it warms up a bit!

It looks great on you! love how light and comfy it looks
I love stripes! This looks so comfy, I would wear it all the time.
Hi Anna–
Great dress! I just bought the pattern 🙂 Do you have any details on the fabric? Is it jersey, interlock, etc., what’s the stretch, and so on….
Thanks!
Bethany
Thank you! The fabric is sold out now, it was called
Stretch Cotton Jersey Knit Thin Stripe White/Army Green. It’s much lighter than an interlock, but slightly heavier than a tissue weight knit, some stretch.
it’s adorable! i really like it with your tights and boots.
Eep! Love this!! It looks fabulous on you. Off to check out your fabric and the pattern – I’ve been thinking about trying this pattern for a while.
This is the first lady skater dress that I have actually liked. It’s beautiful! Could you please link to your actual fabric? The link just goes to all knit fabric and it’s so hard to judge weight without having a guideline…
Thank you! Wish I could have linked to the actual fabric but it’s sold out. Thank you! The fabric is sold out now, it was called ‘Stretch Cotton Jersey Knit Thin Stripe White/Army Green’. It’s much lighter than an interlock, but slightly heavier than a tissue weight knit, some stretch.
It looks fantastic on you. Nice job matching those stripes on the side!
Stripes are such an essential to a wardrobe. Love this skater dress!
Whoa, I need this dress!! Yours looks gorgeous, Anna!
This is cra-zy flattering. And I don’t lie, because once I told you straight up that you needed to nip in your side seams a little more at the waist. Nothing like strangers saying what’s what.
It’s fantastic! And soo flattering. You look fab in it! And very nice stripe matching on that pocket! 🙂
I love the stripes!
Cute dress and model!
This is so very, very cute! You are right, it fits perfect.
Very pretty! I agree, knits with stripes are the best.
Looks really comfortable, I’d love to wear it. Well done! 🙂
So, so lovely!

Love it! So cute and comfy! Great job!:)
You are so adorable! Love love this dress and that fabric!
I was a little worried about fit , but fit beautifully, I am 5″3 and 125lbs and ordered a size 6 (it is a little snug around the waist, but it’s a corset so that is expected).
Nice! I, too love a striped knit. Looks great with the boots!
Love it!
