pull out box

boxes

Made a little treat for my desk today, a pull out box and tray! Aneela is such a talented lady and her patterns are just awesome. I figured since I’ll be traveling next week for my Nido workshop, that the small pull out box would be perfect for stashing goodies. I can’t decide though if I want to use it for sewing stuff or just in my bag. I did figure out that it’s the perfect size for my Clover binder clips. Decisions. The large tray is destined to corral my thread on my sewing desk.

I love making little projects like this, and I really could spend days making more of these guys. In ALL the fabric combos.

I wish I would have taken a teensy bit more time and focused on getting my topstitching just right on the handles. This side looks best, but I’m just gonna hide the other side for now. I should know better, but sometimes I guess you just have to chalk it up to yet another learning experience.

Anyway, the pattern is clear and easy to follow. Getย ready to bust out your hand sewing needle a bit and you’ll be all set!

very cool! I love making little projects like this for myself in between stuff for other people. It like a refreshing break even though I’m still sewing ๐Ÿ™‚ Is your book really coming out in April? Amazon says May 15th.

๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks Heather. The book’s official publication date is in April, just takes a bit for it to get to distributors like Amazon. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love it! Also, the blue chair! Where did you get it?

Thanks Melissa. The upholstered chair is from target.com. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a gray and the piping is kind of blue-ish.

Is it the Nido shop in Burlington Vermont? I’ve been there a few times it’s a lovely little place and the people are awesome…if that’s the place you’ll be at when and what are you teaching? I’m in Massachusetts and would love to drive up to say hey Anna!!

Pull out box is so sweet! I wish my calendar was open for your Nido appearance, since I’d love to attend, but can’t since I’m committed elsewhere with a class with Pat Sloan.

Have a safe trip and have fun, perhaps I’ll be fortunate to see you at another time.
