Rain Walk!

rainwalk4

I’m so happy to introduce Rain Walk, my first fabric collection with Cloud9 Fabrics! I’m eagerly anticipating sewing with these and excited to show them off at quilt market next month.

Rain Walk was inspired by my family and my love of being outdoors. When my girls were younger I spent many hours walking to parks using the stroller. When they could walk on their own we would go on ‘nature walks’. We would each have a bag and collect whatever we thought was cool or weird as we went along our walk. It’s still one of my favorite things to do with my family and it’s so fun to look at the ground and discover something really amazing that you normally might have just passed by. And of course a little weather would never stop us! It only made things more interesting, especially rain. Now we’re able to go on really long hikes and spent last summer discovering as many state parks as we could. Our adventures are even leading us to visit Alaska this summer! I can’t wait!

Onto a bit more detail, the collection is 6 designs and two colorways on unbleached quilting cotton. I love the earthy and organic feel the unbleached cotton gives. And of course the fabric is organic, too! There is also 2 designs and 6 amazing colors of canvas! Yes! CANVAS!!! Perfect for bag making and home dec projects. Yay!!!

I had so much fun creating this collection. And for someone (me) who is always changing her mind, I had a whole new level respect for designers! I could have spent years trying out different designs, repeats, and color combinations. I’m especially thankful to be able to have worked with Michelle and Gina at Cloud 9 Fabrics, they’re just amazing and talented. I’m honored to be a part of it!rainwalk

Yay!!! That’s so excited. And these look so pretty. Love the colors and I totally relate to your inspiration. And ‘rain walk’?! What a perfect name. I grew up in the way north of California – land of rain and redwood trees. We’d often bundle up in raincoats, rain-pants, and boots and head out for a drippy walk. As long as you’re prepared for it (and have a hot coco waiting for you at home) walking in the rain is a blast. Congrats on the fabric line!!

  11. Yummy! Gosh Anna those are lovely. I especially like the fabric in your hand in the second picture, and the concentric circles top left in the first. I really don’t need any more fabric (there really isn’t any room for any more either!) but neither of those reasons seem to be able to stop me from buying! I’ll look out for it landing in the UK. Well done! Pat on back and high five!
