Go Anywhere – Yoyogi Park Bag

Well I had to make something! When I got home from Quilt Market I of course felt relief, I can sew anything I want! As I was cleaning up the wreckage left behind from quilt market prep, I found this lowly fabric and pattern pull (Go Anywhere Bag) I had set aside months ago. You all must know that I don’t need another bag. I have more than plenty, but this fabric just screamed bag! Hopefully it’ll find its way to a home soon (thinking Citizens of Textile perhaps?).

Anyway, this is the gorgeous canvas print from Yoyogi Park by one of my all time favorite designers – Skinny laMinx. It’s such a happy collection of colors!

So I paired it with a bit of gray (real original I know, ha!) and a little handmade piping. I used cotton canvas as the lining, I think it’ll be quite sturdy.

Thank you for reading along all these years. I’m getting back into the swing of regular blogging (I hope) now that my book is out. I miss being able to share something the minute I finish, and of course connecting with you all. I think sewing a few things just for the fun of it will help pull me out of this slump I feel I’m in. Plus – it’s almost summer!!

I’m sure there must be a natural letdown after so, so much energy has been spent on the book and getting to market. But I know I speak for many of us, we are so glad to have you back!! I mean you were here and did a great job, but now you’re Here! Like really! No agendas. Just start playing again, in fabríc and words – when and how you want. That’s what we enjoy 🙂
