what’s better than glittery pink elephants?

We had to replace our old insulated lunch bag that I use for Emily, it was so gross.  I found this pattern from ginia18’s etsy shop.  I ended up using oilcloth from fabric.com and insulated batting.   It was fun to finally make it and I’ll be making another one for Natalie since she insisted she didn’t like the green check lining.

I just think it’s pretty darn cute!  I did mess up on the gusset part by not reading the pattern piece (you’re supposed to add an extra few inches for wiggle room) and so it made the whole lunch bag a little shorter than it’s supposed to be.  It still works well and I hope it’ll last a long time.  Another cute little feature is the little side pockets on each side.

pink elephant fabric was purchased at Crafty Planet and the oilcloth from fabric.com

Love it! I’ve been eyeing that pattern for a while but we don’t have a need for lunch boxes just yet. I think I like your shorty version better.

It’s very cute. Is it easy to wash out though? My son has a Landsend one and it is so hard to really get clean. Can you throw this in the machine? I have to think of something better for next year.

Would you think me awful if I made one for myself instead of for my kids… because IT… IS… SO… CUTE. And to answer your question: What’s better than glittery pink elephants? A glittery pink elephant bag.

This is way cute! I like the pattern – it’d make a good scripture case for the girls (when they’re responsible enough to carry that to church) 🙂

Thats a gorgeous little lunchbag. I hate the poor choice of lunch boxes/bags that are available at the mo’ but that is really cute and would make a nice change from insulated Disney princesses!!!
